Teacher on child porn charges appears in court

THE case of a disgraced Dudley teacher who was caught with nearly 100,000 child porn pictures has been adjourned until October.

Matthew Bullas, aged 32, of Hamilton Close, Wordsley, a former PE teacher at Castle High School , appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court today (Friday August 31) charged with nine offences of possessing indecent images of children.

The teacher, who was sacked from his job after the allegations came to light, pleaded guilty to the charges at an earlier hearing in May at Dudley Magistrates Court.

The court heard a final decision was still awaited on whether funding will be granted for a psychologist’s report ahead of sentencing - so Judge Michael Dudley adjourned the case.

Bullas, who was arrested after police seized computer equipment from his former Halesowen home in November 2011, was released on bail until October 26.
