IT was a pirate’s life for Black Country musical stars when they took to the waterside at a popular boating festival to promote their forthcoming show.
Members of Quarry Bank Operatic Society were at the Black Country Boating Festival at Bumble Hole Nature Reserve at Netherton on Saturday (September 15) to promote their up coming production of the Pirates of Penzance.
The show, one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic operettas, will run at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, from Tuesday September 25 to Saturday September 29.
With musical direction from Richard Ganner - it will feature a host of seasoned Black Country performers including Richard Cope as Frederick, the son of a wealthy 19th century man who is accidentally apprenticed to a pirate.
Alex Detheridge also stars as love interest Mabel and Julia Siviter plays Frederick’s nurse Ruth.
Tickets, priced £10 to £13, are available from Linda Raybould on 01384 820902 or online at www.qbos.org.uk
