Men in court over Co-op robbery

TWO MEN are appearing in court this morning, accused of robbing a Dudley Co-op and plotting raids at other stores across the Black Country.

The men, both aged 22, were arrested following an early morning raid at the Co-op in Russells Hall on Saturday.

Police responded to a 999 call after masked men allegedly threatened staff at the store on Overfield Road just after 6.30am.

Officers flooded the area and stopped two men at the back of the shop. They were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Following questioning the pair were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, after a recent series of other robberies at Co-op stores.
