Himley Hall throws open its doors for wedding couples
5:08pm Monday 24th September 2012 in News
COUPLES planning their wedding and hoping to follow in the footsteps of Royalty are invited to attend a free open evening at Himley Hall later this week.
The historic hall, which has strong Royal connections, caters for civil weddings and partnership ceremonies - and people can tour the venue from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday (September 27).
Couples can look around rooms where Royal newlyweds once took their honeymoon and princes and earls once strolled at the venue which Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson visited frequently in the 1930s.
Each of the hall’s licenced rooms will be set out ready for a ceremony and visitors will be able to speak to staff about planning the perfect day.
The hall’s Oak Room and newly refurbished art-deco style North Wing will also be set out for celebration receptions, complete with floral decorations and sample table layouts. Himley Hall has two rooms licensed for civil ceremonies, which overlook the terrace gardens with views towards the lake.
