THE Mayor of Dudley stopped off for a cuppa at a charity coffee morning at Brierley Hill’s Creative Health Centre today (Wednesday September 26) in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event, which raised nearly £200, was held at the Brierley Hill High Street alternative therapy centre as part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising initiative.

Councillor Melvyn Mottram, Mayor of Dudley, and his wife Michelle, the Mayoress, were guests of honour at the event which also included free treatment taster sessions, a cake baking competition and raffle.

Shona Grinyer, practice manager at the clinic, said: “The therapists, staff and I have been overwhelmed and very touched by the response we have had from companies and businesses making donations for the Macmillan Day.”

Wollaston fundraisers Sue McDowall and Sheila Wrigley will also be hosting a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

It will run at Wollaston Methodist Church Hall, Cobden Street, Wollaston, from 9.30am to 11.30am on Saturday (September 29).
