DUDLEY College has revealed plans for a third educational complex in the town centre.

College bosses have submitted proposals to Dudley Council for Dudley Advance – which will house manufacturing and engineering technology courses.

The new £7 million four-storey building will be built adjacent to Dudley Sixth on the current Priory Road car park and will form the third phase of the Dudley Learning Quarter, following the recent opening of Dudley Evolve in Tower Street and Dudley Sixth.

The centre’s curriculum will be developed in partnership with Aston University, together with local employees Thomas Dudley Ltd and Hadley Industries.

The centre will support up to 150 14-16 year olds and 500 16-19s year olds on full and part time programmes, along with 600 apprentices on day release programmes.

If permission is granted, building work is expected to begin in Autumn 2013 subject to funding, with a planned opening date for the following Autumn.
