Jail term is on ice for theft of phone

AN UPPER Gornal man has received a suspended jail sentence for stealing a watch, a mobile phone and a wallet.

Appearing in Dudley Magistrates Court on September 28, Tony Jones, aged 26, of Hermit Street, was jailed for 18 weeks suspended for 18 months, as well as being ordered to pay £520 compensation and £85 court costs for stealing the items, worth £520, on July 18.

 

Also in court on September 28:

 

  • Dean John Swann, aged 29, of Garden Walk, Lower Gornal, was ordered to pay £34.42 compensation for dishonestly making off without paying for diesel.

 

In court on September 24:

 

  • Ian Holyoake, aged 34, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was fined £200 for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.

The defendant was also fined £600 and handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance. He was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for failing to produce a test certificate.

 

  • Wayne Lee Nathan Smith, aged 21, of Bank Road, Netherton, was fined £200 for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.

The defendant was also fined £600 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance.

 

In court on September 25:

 

  • Henry Kinge-Nakah, aged 50, of Heath Green, Dudley, was fined £40 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £80 court costs, as well as being handed three licence penalty points, for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.

 

  • Saffi Ullah, aged 18, of Bridgewater Crescent, Kates Hill, was fined £75 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £80 court costs, as well as being handed five licence penalty points, for driving without due care and attention.

 

  • Tammy Michelle Wood, aged 22, of The Parade, Dudley, was fined £200 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £80 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for six months, for driving without insurance.

 

In court on September 26:

 

  • Nomeeri Taha, aged 30, of Belle Isle, Brockmoor, was fined £90 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance.

The defendant was also handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £200 compensation, for assaulting a police officer. He was also handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £75 compensation, for assaulting a police officer.

 

In court on September 27:

 

  • Carl George Percival, aged 57, of Church Road, Netherton, was handed a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 court costs, for assaulting a police officer.
