A PERSON was taken to hospital following a three-car crash in Sedgley last night.

The pile-up happened on Wolverhampton Road at around 21.22pm (Thursday).

One casualty was trapped in their car and West Midlands Fire Service crews from Dudley and Bilston carried out a full roof removal using specialist cutting equipment.

The patient, who had suspected spinal injuries, was removed from the vehicle using a spinal board and transferred to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Paramedics also checked over another three people.

West Midlands Police were also in attendance.
