Merry Hill prepares to spook film fans with Halloween drive-in
12:33pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
MOVIE fans can watch creepy classic flicks on the big screen at Merry Hill’s Halloween drive-in later this month.
The centre will be transforming one of its car parks into a giant outdoor cinema, which will show Ghostbusters and Twilight on Wednesday October 31.
Popular 80s movie Ghostbusters, which sees Bill Murray and his hapless team of ghost hunters trying to rid New York City of ghouls, will be shown at 5pm - with gates opening at 3.30pm.
And romantic teen vampire movie Twilight, starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, will be screened at 8pm.
Kelly Reed, Merry Hill marketing manager, said: “Our drive-in programme is quickly becoming one of the most popular additions to the centre’s calendar.
“Our Halloween showings are set to be no different, and with the latest instalment of Twilight being released soon, we’re sure lots of fans will want to revisit the first one.
“What better way to enjoy the chilling atmosphere of the darkest night of the year than snuggling up in front of the big screen.”
The centre will also be hosting pumpkin giveaways, competitions and a Trick or Treat trail for kids.
And facepainters will be on the upper mall near Build-A-Bear transforming kids into little monsters between 10am and 4pm.
Programmes to gain entry to both Ghostbusters and Twilight are available from the centre’s concierge desk and maps for the Trick or Treat trail can be collected on Wednesday October 31.
