Hundreds turn up to audition for X Factor in Dudley

Dudley News: X Factor hopefuls in Dudley. X Factor hopefuls in Dudley.

HUNDREDS of hopefuls flocked to Dudley to audition for the popular TV talent show, the X Factor.

The mobile audition tour stopped off at Dudley Town Hall on Wednesday (April 23) to give wannabe pop stars the chance to prove they have what it takes to be the next big thing.

Although the auditions were not filmed, nerves were getting the better of those queuing up to perform for the X Factor team.

Tiffany Piddington from Netherton was hoping to impress with her rendition of Lulu's Shout as it was "something a bit different" but admitted she would be "petrified" if she got through to the live shows.

The 22-year-old added: "I do a bit of karaoke but I'm feeling nervous."

For Andreia Moaiz, aged 15, the decision to audition was made at the last-minute.

The teen from Dudley was planning to sing Clarity by electronic dance producer, Zedd.

She said: "I walked past and saw the queue so I thought I might as well give it a go. I'm feeling nervous, I'm really shy about my singing. I don't know if I've got what it takes but I'm going to go in there mainly for feedback."

Chloe Parkes, aged 17, from Brierley Hill, decided to perform Mad World in a bid to go through to the next stage and audition in front of the celebrity judges, including Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, in the summer.

She said: "I play the guitar too but I don't know if I'd play it if I got through."
