A TEENAGE drug dealer who left a Lye woman "petrified" when he made a gun gesture at her after she supported police when he stabbed a man in a drugs row has been jailed

Jolean Gordon made a gun out of his hand and was grinning as he pretended he was pulling the trigger, leaving the woman convinced she would be killed if she made a second statement about his drug dealing.

Gordon, aged 19, who had been spared a custodial sentence when he stabbed a man in Crabbe Street, Lye, returned to the area, where he was spotted drug dealing by the woman.

The teenager was then driven to Broome Close, Halesowen, by Adam Jones, but the pair were arrested after the brave woman had again notified police about his actions.

Judge Robin Onions said the woman should receive a High Sheriff's commendation for her public-spirited behaviour after being told by Gordon, "Don't tell anyone if you see me dealing in drugs on the streets of this town."

He told Gordon he must have felt extremely fortunate when he was given a suspended sentence for stabbing the man and added: "Your reaction to the chance you were given was to stay out of trouble for just six weeks. You turned your back on the opportunity."

He said that when Gordon returned to Crabbe Street, he saw the woman, who had the courage and determination to make a statement to police after the stabbing incident.

It was then he made the gun gesture to deliberately intimidate the woman, said the judge at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Gordon, of Yateley Crescent, Great Barr, admitted possessing a knife and 31 wraps of heroin and 49 wraps of crack cocaine with intent to supply.

He further admitted possessing a small amount of cannabis, witness intimidation and breaching the suspended sentence he was given at the earlier court hearing.

Judge Onions sent him to a young offenders institution for three years on the charges and ruled he should have to serve a further 12 months for the breach.

Jones, aged 30 of Furnace Hill, Halesowen, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and he was given a 16 month jail term, suspended for two years.

He was further placed on supervision for 18 months, told he must obey a four month curfew between 7pm and 7am and ordered to pay £600 costs.

The judge told Jones he took the view he had been put under pressure by Gordon to drive him around on the day in question adding, "You were remarkably stupid."

Gulum Ahmed, defending Gordon, described him as having a bad criminal record and said he developed a drug habit after falling into the wrong company.

"He accepts he was foolish when he intimidated the woman and he knows what he did had a profound effect on her."
