TINY tot Cradley Heath kickboxer Aimee Stakevitch has become number two in the country for her age.

The seven-year-old won silver in an “excellent” fight in the Amateur Martial Association’s British Nationals.

Head coach of the Haden Hill Kickboxing Club Arron Walker, said his team put 100 per cent effort into the competition which was held in Wigan.

The eldest member was Aimee’s 12-year-old sister Megan and Mr Walker said the achievement of the team was tremendous as the club has only been running for 18 months.

Head of kickboxing Gary Hickman said all the children had a bright future in the sport and awarded Harvey Adlam, also aged seven, with the fighter of the tournament title for “displaying great strength and determination against heavier opponents”.

The club comes under Hickmans Kickboxing Academy and meets on Sunday afternoons from 3.30pm until 4.30pm at Haden Hill Leisure Centre.
