A WOLLASTON hairdresser has coloured her way to the final of a national competition.

Abbie Lou Hadley, of Tim Scott-Wright @The Hair Surgery, has beaten off stiff competition to be one of 11 finalists battling it out for THE ONE ultimate hair colourist award.

Contestants were initially judged via social media with people voting based on images of their work and video entries.

The 24-year-old will now have to re-create her photographic entry on a model, who will be presented to the industry judges at Olympia Pillar Hall on March 1.

She said: “This is the first major colour competition I have entered, so I really didn’t expect to get very far. I can’t believe that I am in the final now.

"All the salon clients, friends and family have been really supportive which is just so kind of them. I would love to bring back the trophy for them as much as for myself."

Her boss, Tim Scott-Wright added: “Abbie is an exceptional colourist, and I wanted her to enter this competition because she really deserves some recognition.

"I am delighted that she has made it through and must thank everyone who voted for her on social media. I think she has a good chance so we have our fingers crossed that she will return with the trophy."
