A LEGENDARY Stourbridge band have recreated an iconic image from their 1980s heyday in the run up to their eagerly anticipated reunion gigs.

The Red Lemon Electric Blues Band will celebrate their 30th anniversary with two reformation gigs at the town hall next month.

Members of the band, who are now hard at work in rehearsals, took some time out from their hectic schedule to recreate the iconic shot.

Frontman Jim Merris said the image was a homage to the band’s influences, especially the likes of The Blues Brothers and B. B. King.

The band themselves became a massive hit, headlining rhythm and blues gigs around the UK as well as supporting top name stars such as Chuck Berry and Robert Plant.

After going their separate ways in 1992, the band has reunited and already sold out the first of their gigs on Friday September 11.

Jim said: “We are expecting around 1,000 people to come over the two nights, which shows the incredible following that we had.

“Our fan base followed us all over the place and it is fantastic that we were able to sell out the first gig so quickly.

“The band has still been going on in one form or another, but whether or not we all get back together for future gigs will depend on the success of these two.”

Tickets for the gig on Saturday September 12 are available from the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, online at Midlandboxoffice.co.uk or by calling 0870 320 7000.
