THIS weekend’s harvest services at a Wall Heath church will be an extra-special occasion for the congregation as they are led by their new minister.

The Rev Nadene Snyman was recently ordained into ministry and will take the thanksgiving worship at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church on Sunday (October 11).

Following her induction into the Smestow Brook Group Pastorate, which covers Wall Heath, Wombourne and Swindon, Nadene will lead both the 10.30am and 6pm services.

Sheilah Barton, member of the church, said: “We are delighted that our new minister, The Rev Nadene Snyman, will be leading worship at both services, to which everyone will be made most welcome.

“She is hoping to get to know the members of the Wall Heath community and be able to welcome them into the warm and friendly fellowship we enjoy at St Andrew’s.

As part of the service, harvest gifts will be collected with tins and non-perishable items donated to the Black Country Foodbank, in Stourbridge, and fresh produce being given to the Good Shepherd Ministry in Wolverhampton.

Sheilah added: “As a church we support the foodbank on a regular weekly basis and they are always very grateful for everything we donate.

“Since last year’s harvest we have donated a total of 266.61kg which is amazing. So thank you very much for your generosity. This has gone towards providing the equivalent of 230,000 meals for people in crisis.

“Please let us continue to support these two wonderfully caring organisations during our Harvest Festival.”
