A FACEBOOK page, set up to boost Shell Corner businesses, is starting to take off.

Almost 60 people have joined as members and information is being added about what the area has to offer.

The Shell Corner Partnership page also provides a forum for people to highlight concerns and post information, such as road closures.

Halesowen North councillor Stuart Henley set up the page along with a Streetlife page on behalf of the partnership.

He said: "This is for all from the area to post their comments, ideas and for the businesses to post any offers that they have.

“This hopefully will help us all work together on improving the area and its footfall. We would like to encourage all to use these pages for their comments and free advertising for their business.”

Shell Corner Partnership’s treasurer Cllr Hilary Bills added the new Facebook page was doing much better than the website the group used to run.

"It provides instant news and making contact with other people much easier.

"It has been good to have all three ward councillors working together for the good of the area we represent. The solar powered Christmas lights which are funded by the partnership and the area forum have shown what happens when a community works together.”
