AN eight-year-old Cradley Heath girl, who is having her long locks chopped off on Monday for charity, has already raised more than £1,000.
After growing her hair for the last two years to the base of her back, Elise Wood will have at least 7in cut off for the Little Princess Trust.
The Reddal Hill Primary School pupil set out to raise £350 to enable the charity to provide a wig for a young cancer victim suffering hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatment, and is now on target to pay for three.
Mum Sam Wood, of Hall Street, said: “She has wanted to have her cut for a while, but I didn’t want to let her.
“Then I suggested she had it cut for the charity and she loved the idea.”
