CUSTOMERS at a Halesowen building society are being asked to vote for which charity receives the biggest share of windfall cash.

The Yorkshire Building society has £1,000 to split between three good causes chosen by colleagues and members but who gets the most will be decided by the number of votes received.

The charities in line for a donation are Halas Homes, Acorns Children's Hospice and the Beacon Centre for the Blind.

The number of votes received at the Cornbow Shopping Centre branch for each charity by Friday May 20 will determine which one receives £500, £300 and £200.

The money was raised through a scheme where building society members donate the pennies from the interest they receive on their accounts to help charities and good causes in their communities.
