A BLACK Country charity is set to reap the rewards when Blakelands Country House hosts a fashion show and afternoon tea.

The Halfpenny Green manor will raise funds for Promise Dreams – which aims to make dreams come true for seriously and terminally ill children and their families – at its latest event on Wednesday June 8.

Starting at 1pm, with a fashion show getting underway at 1.30pm, the event will feature models showing off the latest designer clothes, as well as a vintage themed afternoon tea.

The owners of Blakelands Country House will also be donating a raffle prize of dinner for two in their popular restaurant.

Paul Morgan, house owner, said: “We think Promise Dreams do a fantastic job and we’ve had a relationship with them for a number of years now.

“They are passionate about raising money for seriously ill children and when they approached us, we were more than happy to help.”

All of the profits raised at the event will be donated to the Wolverhampton-based charity.

Tricia Ward-Jones, event organiser, said: “We are very excited about holding the event in such a prestigious location and hope to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity.

“We will be holding a raffle and an auction, with some fantastic prizes, and we are delighted that two Lloyds Bank employees have nominated the event for their ‘pound match’ scheme.

“This means that whatever money we raise via the raffle, they will ‘pound match’ it up to the value of £500, which will be a great boost to our overall total.”
