THEATRE fans can see Dame Helen Mirren's star turn as Queen Elizabeth II in acclaimed stage play The Audience which is being screened at Stourbridge Town Hall next week.

The hit West End and Broadway play, written by British playwright and screenwriter Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, centres on the private weekly meetings, known as audiences, that have taken place between Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her Prime Ministers during her 60 years on the throne.

Through the private meetings with leaders including Winston Churchill, Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair and current incumbent David Cameron - the audience is given glimpses of the woman behind the crown and the moments that have shaped the monarch.

The National Theatre Encore Screening, which includes an exclusive Q&A with Dame Helen Mirren and award-winning director Stephen Daldry, will take place on Thursday June 9 - starting at 7pm.
