A BLACK Country teenager has admitted killing a newly married Oldbury telecoms engineer by driving dangerously at the wheel of his mother's car.

Matthew Harding who took his wedding vows just a week earlier had been working with a colleague in Coseley when he was hit by the Citroen Picasso.

The 17-year-old had been driving at 47mph in a residential area and he had smoked cannabis the night before, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

Mr Harding, aged 27, who had been working with Jermaine Buchanan by Jack Holden Avenue in Woodsetton received serious injuries and he died in hospital the following day.

Mr Buchanan suffered a broken arm and jaw in the incident together with a damaged ankle and he has since made a full recovery.

The teenager - now 17 but 16 at the time of the incident who cannot be named for legal reasons- pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and he will be sentenced on June 27.

Cathlyn Orchard, defending, told the court he accepted the standard of his driving was dangerous adding in his basis of plea.

He said: "I did not know how to drive any car."

A second teenager, aged 17, denied aggravated vehicle taking and he was remanded on bail to await trial on a date to be fixed.
