DUDLEY-born football manager Sam Allardyce is set to be confirmed as the new England boss and his appointment has the official approval of his home town.

Voters in our online poll have said yes to the idea of Big Sam taking over the national team to rescue their fortunes after they crashed out of Euro 2016.

The result however remains close, with 52 per cent backing the former Dudley Town player while 48 per cent thought the FA should look elsewhere.

The vote closes at 1pm today, vote and have your say on what Big Sam should do to improve the national team by leaving a comment on this story.
