A HARD-working Oldbury schoolgirl has been recognised at an awards ceremony at the House of Commons.

Year nine Bristnall Hall Academy pupil Elle Jones received the award from the school’s sponsor The Academy Transformation Trust.

More than 60 guests including pupils, parents, staff and MPs gathered in London to celebrate achievements of staff and pupils from across the trust.

Bristnall Hall’s principal, Vince Green, said: “Elle is a model pupil both in and out of lessons and has been an example to the whole academy community during her time here.

“Over the past three years she has made superb progress in lessons modelling high levels of learning behaviour to others.

“She has completed the Race for Life and supported other charitable events willingly.

“Elle dances to a high level at the academy and outside of school and has performed stunning routines at our dance extravaganza and showcase events.

“This has been done whilst she has had to support her family through a very difficult time. The amazing thing with Elle is that at no stage has she lost focus or her positive attitude to life, in this way she is an example to us all and we are extremely proud of her.”
