OSTEOPOROSIS will be brought to the forefront during an awareness morning in Wall Heath this week.
Together with national charity, The National Osteoporosis Society, Active Seniors are hosting the event on Thursday (October 20) to give people who are affected by osteoporosis or osteopenia – or those who want to know more about the condition – the chance to learn more at an information session.
Katie Hall, regional development manager for the society will be on hand to give a short talk on the support and information that the society offer, while Active Seniors will be demonstrating weight-bearing, muscle-strengthening and balance-training exercises which are ideal for those with, or those wanting to protect themselves from, Osteoporosis.
Taking place at Wall Heath Community Centre, in Enville Road, the exercise sessions start at 9.30am and 11am, with the tea, cake and talk on from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Organisers are also asking attendees to ‘wear orange for your bones’ as they join in the event – with entry costing £2.50. For more information call 07512 546480.
