BUDDING lifeguards can learn all the skills needed to carry out the lifesaving work at Stourbridge’s Crystal Leisure Centre throughout July.
Confident swimmers can sign up for the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) national pool lifeguard course, which provides intensive six days of training and an exam which qualifies successful students to work as pool lifeguards, anywhere in the country.
Participants would need to complete all six sessions which run from 8am until 4pm on Friday, July 7, and July 14, noon until 9.30pm on Saturday, July 8 and July 15, and noon until 8.30pm on Sunday, July 9 and July 16.
The final exam will take place on Sunday, July 16.
Participants, who must be over the age of 16 and pass a pre-arranged swimming test beforehand, would receive a course manual and special tuition, while those who complete the course successfully will obtain an official lifeguard qualification and certificate.
The course costs £200, but a £50 deposit is required at the time of booking to guarantee a place. The remaining balance of £150 must be paid by Thursday, July 6.
To book a place call Crystal Leisure Centre on 01384 812800.
