A “JEALOUS and possessive” Halesowen father has been locked up for 16 months after he threatened his ex-partner with a stun gun and a knife.

Ryan Campbell told the woman who left him with their children to return to her Dudley home, "I am going to taser you"

She was punched by the 24-year-old who was holding the stun gun and he then hurled a kitchen knife in her direction after taking it from his car.

Campbell who could not accept the relationship had come to an end had started driving up and down Priory Road near the home of her parents before sending a text message containing a threat to kill.

Then the following day, said Angus Robertson prosecuting, there was a video message in which he threatened, "I am coming for you - where are you."

A short time later Campbell hurled abuse at his former partner and he threw the contents of a soft drink bottle at her as she left a shop in the area.

Mr Robertson said she ran towards her parents’ home but he followed her and it was then he struck out before producing the stun gun.

And two days later he tried to drag her by the hair into his car and spat at her, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

Campbell of Beecher Road, Halesowen admitted using a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, harassment and possession of a bladed article.

Miss Ellen Shaw defending said Campbell accepted he had behaved badly adding, "He knows he has got to work on his temper."
