LOST loved ones will be remembered this week as Mary Stevens Hospice host their annual Tree of Light ceremonies in Oldswinford, Halesowen and Hagley.

The Stourbridge-based charity are offering three opportunities for the local community to come together in remembrance of those that have passed.

A non-religious ceremony will be held at Hagley Golf Club on Wednesday (November 22), at 7pm, while later that same evening, the iconic tree in the Hagley Road hospice’s grounds will be lit, and remain on until Friday, January 5.

St Mary's Church in Oldswinford will continue their support of the event by hosting the ceremony on Saturday (November 25) at 4pm, before a final ceremony takes place on Sunday (November 26) at St John’s Church in Halesowen.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to either buy a candle to light at the event, or sponsor a light on the hospice’s tree.

Marie Faux, bereavement support officer at the hospice, said: “Remembering those we have loved is a very important part of grieving.

“At our Tree of Light ceremonies, we offer a special environment in which we give thanks for those memories and come together to support other members of our community through a difficult time.

“There will be readings, music performed by some very talented local artists and choirs, and the chance to light a candle or sponsor a light in memory of your loved one."
