MEMBERS of a Stourbridge based trampoline club have bounced their way to the national championships.

Star members of the Ultimate Trampoline Club, which meets at The Crystal Leisure Centre, enjoyed success at last month’s Zonal Trampoline Competition in Chesterfield where they competed against trampolinists from the West Midlands, East Midlands, Wales and east of England.

Stourbridge schoolgirls Fliss Bayley, Evie Chaplin and Imogen Shuttleworth, pupils at St James's Primary School in Wollaston, are among those who have made it through as a team to the British Schools Gymnastic Association national championships which will take place in Belfast, northern Ireland, on March 24.

Arryon Hart, Catrise Hart and Isabel Norton also qualified individually for the nationals.

Coach Sam Shuttleworth said: “It was the first time we had so may get to the Zonals and the level of competition was tough but everyone who competed did fantastically. We’re so pleased to now have five travelling over to Belfast.”

The club is now seeking sponsorship to help with the costs of travelling to northern Ireland for the national championships.
