THE story of King John will be the subject of Stourbridge Historical Society's next talk.
Regular speaker Max Keen will be presenting a talk entitled ‘King John: The Worst or Most Useful King’ at Stourbridge Town Hall on Thursday May 17.
Honorary secretary David Hickman said: "Max has spoken at six of our meetings since 2012. His topics have included Henry V, Francis Drake and Richard III.
"For his talks Max dresses in costume of the period, laughter is never far away. This year he shares with us the story of King John who tends to be remembered for losing the English possessions in France and for signing the Magna Carta in 1215.
"John died in 1216 and is buried in Worcester Cathedral."
The talk will be held in the Wollaston Room at 7.30pm.
