POLICE in Brierley Hill have been issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to drivers who ignore the a ‘No entry’ sign in the town.
Following numerous complaints, officers from the local neighbourhood policing team spent time in the area of Mill Street to monitor the situation and warn motorists who ignored the signs.
A total of 36 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued in one day as officers stepped up the action to deter offenders.
Sergeant Deb Rowbotham, from the Brierley neighbourhood policing team, said: “We will continue to address this problem with fixed penalty notices, until we get the message across to motorists that the signs are there for a reason and should not be ignored.”
