A STOURBRIDGE arts festival has announced an all-star cast with a West End singer top of the bill.

Smartfest at Mary Stevens Park in Norton will feature a performance by Kerry Ellis as the finale of the three-day festival.

The event will start on Friday August 10 and include live music, dance, drama and family fun.

Kerry Ellis has appeared in shows including My Fair Lady, We Will Rock You, Les Miserables and Chess as well as a number of BBC productions, she also collaborated with Queen guitarist Brian May on the album Anthems.

Smartfest organiser, Mark Williams, said: "This event will be a celebration of all the arts in an accessible, inclusive and fun way, allowing people to experience the joy the different disciplines can bring and encouraging people to get involved and take part.

"Smartest began as an idea more than two years ago, it has taken a long time and a dedicated team of people who have embraced the concept and worked hard to make it happen.

"We still have a lot of work to do, but by August 10 everything will be in place to give Stourbridge and the people of the area a festival to enjoy and be proud of."

Mark is on the lookout for more volunteers to help run the event, for more information visit www.smartfest.org.uk
