DUDLEY Council has announced the date for the Norton by-election will be Thursday June 21.
The seat was left vacant after the sudden death of cllr Angus Adams, just days before the full local election on May 3.
The Conservatives should be confident in Norton after the ward returned the party's biggest majority of this year's elections although, after a disastrous night when they lost control of the council, the blues will be taking nothing for granted.
Residents have until Wednesday June 6 to register to vote or a postal vote. They have until Wednesday June 13 to register for a proxy vote.
