ANOTHER campaign launched by local people in Dudley is set to have a national impact, after the Chairman of the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee announced on Friday that he would be putting car clamping under the spotlight.

The Labour Government proposes to introduce a power to extend detention before charge, in exceptional circumstances and only with the approval of a judge, from the present limit of 28 days to up to 42 days.

FOR anyone, like me, who grew up in Dudley the name of Duncan Edwards is synonymous with the town and your childhood; your school competed for the Duncan Edwards Cup; you saw the stained glass windows at St Francis's Church. When you went swimming you'd see the shirts and the caps at the leisure centre.
