My name is Jack Walton. I’m 14 years old and live in the Stourbridge district. I have a lot of opinions on current affairs and what’s happening in the news at the moment.
When I’m due to leave school next year I want to take up a career as a pastry chef - I love baking and I can’t think of anything else I love to do as much as cooking and baking.
In this blog I will cover all aspects of the news including what’s happening in the local area and what’s happening in the world today and I will also cover what it’s like being a teenager in the Stourbridge area and what opportunities we have today.
We all have different opinions and on this blog I will express mine. I know I may not share the same opinion as others and I don’t mind accepting constructive criticism and comments from readers.
I think being a teenager sometimes can be very hard, especially one with limited opportunities. This is why I’m doing this blog to be heard and to stand up for what I believe in.

Brockencote Hall.

Today i'm going to talk about and review a place in Worcestershire called Brockencote Hall, it's a hotel and restaurant that has won many awards and think deserves a michelin star, the food at brockencote hall really is fine dining at it's best.

Time flies

I only just realised how awfully long it has been since i did my last blog post, the last one was the 8th October and were just now getting into December, so as i clearly have not stuck to what i agreed on which was to do a post every 2 weeks i'm really sorry.

New York.

Today i'm going to talk to you about the amazing trip to New York i took a few weeks ago with my family. The furthest i have ever been is Majorca, so New York was a huge deal for me i was so excited and it was the furthest i ever was from home. We arrived back just days before hurricane Sandy arrived, the weather in New York was gorgous and warm a lot nicer than the weather in the UK which was a huge bonus as it was my first time in America.

April Jones.

I'm sure many of you have been shocked and saddened over the diseperance of April Jones which was exactly a week ago today. As we all know these kind of things happen all the time and never normally have as much media coverage as this, but the main reason this has is because there were actual witnesses to Aprils abduction last Monday in her town of Machynlleth in mid Wales, the children that were playing with her on that fateful night say that April got into a " grey or lightely coloured van" this has sparked a huge nationwide hunt for missing April, and personally i think this is really terrible however the man accused of abudcting and murdering April, although no body has been found the man has been accused of her muder, i know there may be many opinions on this and on my blog this is what i usually will talk about big stories that have big opinions, and unfortunately this is one of those really horrible and dreadful stories.

London.

This weekend just gone i went to London for a short break and i must say i had a great time! I travelled by train to Birmingham then got onto virgin trains that took me to London Euston, the weather on Saturday was blue sky and really hot so that was a really lucky thing for us because when you book in advance you never really know what to expect in this country. Anyway we were stopping in a great location right opposite tower bridge in a great 4 star hotel, thinking about it now i'm amazed at how much you can fit into 2 days we only had one night and on Saturday night we went to the west end to see Billy Elliot which was really good, my Dad also suprised me because as you know i want to be some sort of chef once i have left school well my Dad organised for me to do some work experience in the kitchens of the Brasserie of the hotel as it was quite an exspensive restaurant this was amazing for me, i got to look round the kitchens and also got to plate up some of the starters which was really good. We also visited Trafagular square Leicester square and we went on the underground twice which was quite an experience for me as i have never been on the underground, but one of the best things was visiting Harrods- i'v wanted to visit for some time now and it was amazing it has 7 floors in total and to be quite honest words can't really explain what it was like but i will surely be going back there some day, Now it's a new week unfortunately London feels like a distant memory and everything was so fast paced in London unlike where i live but i suppose that's what it's like in the city, some like it some don't.
