BUSINESSES in Wyre Forest are being urged to join a national campaign encouraging them to be good recruiters.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is the first Chamber in the country to sign up to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s national Good Recruitment Campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to help firms enhance their recruitment process and provide employers with guidance and advice to improve their hiring practice.

Companies that sign up to the campaign charter will be able to access an online self-assessment kit to review their own performance. They can also look at case studies for examples of good practice.

Louise Hewett of Hewett Recruitment is a director of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation and is working with the Chamber.

She said: “Signing up to the Good Recruitment Charter aligns your organisation with good recruitment practice – it sends a positive message to potential candidates and can be used to drive good practice internally with the senior team.

“The resource is completely free and provides use of a self-assessment kit and guidance to review your own organisations performance against the charter. “There will also be some great networking opportunities to learn from peers and academics about trends and new approaches to recruitment and resources. “How we treat our candidates directly reflects on our employer brand. News travels fast in this connected world, so getting the right message out there is paramount.”
