A BRIERLEY Hill law firm has been congratulated for raising more than £27,000 for The Prince’s Trust over the last two years.

Staff members at Higgs & Sons, based in Waterfront Business Park, have collected £27,106.50 for the nominated charity through a variety of events, fundraisers and partnerships.

Last year, staff undertook a number of fundraising events for The Prince’s Trust including a bike ride to Rio, a 5-a-side football competition, an All Stars football match against Aston Villa Football Club and a charity quiz.

Sonia Kaur, corporate partnership manager for The Prince’s Trust, said: “I am overwhelmed by the commitment Higgs & Sons has shown to The Prince’s Trust for two years now. The fundraising amount both years has been phenomenal.

“It has dramatically influenced our work in Dudley and has helped us support more young people than ever before.”

Trainees from the company also took part in the Million Makers project raising £10,000, which contributed to the overall sum in 2014 of £15,004.95 and was added to the £12,101.55 raised in 2013.

Tim Jones, head of the law firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme (CSR), said: “The success of our CSR programme has been the support from our people who have demonstrated a clear desire to help the community in which they live and work.

“Overall we have had a fantastic couple of years and we have been absolutely delighted to have been part of The Prince’s Trust in supporting young people within the Dudley area.”

The Black Country business’ newly chosen charity for the coming year is the Alzheimer’s Society.
