A BRIERLEY Hill accountancy firm put their money skills to the test when they raised £10,000 for breast cancer charities at an annual quiz night.

Griffiths and Pegg, based in Level Street, will now donate the funds raised during the evening to Breast Cancer Now and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer – inspired by a colleague who was diagnosed with the disease.

Adrian Grainger, director, said: “One of our colleagues was diagnosed with cancer in 2001 and we started the quiz nights then.

“We have had enormous success over the years and raised some much needed money to help fight this terrible disease.

“We are delighted to have been able to have raised £10,000 in one night which was an amazing effort from all the people who came along. Everyone should be proud to have raised this money to help the charities continue their life-saving work.”

About 200 people spread over more than 50 teams packed into the Copthorne Hotel, with the night also including a raffle and auction prizes to help boost the fundraising total.

Throughout the past 15 years, the company has raised a combined total of £90,000 for breast cancer causes.
