IN keeping with the season of goodwill, a Brierley Hill based insurance company recently handed over £7,500 to Birmingham Children's Hospital following a year of fundraising.

Staff at Commercial Express managed to raise the total by completing a variety of fundraisers, such as Vicky Cooper's abseil down the One Snowhill building in Birmingham, team football matches, quiz nights, sponsored walks, a corporate golf day and opening a charity tuck shop in their offices.

Following the success of this year's fundraising, the firm has announced that it will be continuing its efforts for the much-loved children's hospital in 2017.

Duncan Pritchard, managing director, said: "Despite asking our team to nominate a dedicated charity each year, Birmingham Children's Hospital has remained the firm favourite for the past couple of years.

"This is on account of all the fantastic work it does and how many families' lives it has changed. It really is a cause close to all of our hearts.

"We are delighted that we have been able to raise such a great amount of money for the hospital, and it's a bonus that we've all had a great time doing it!

"We want to push the total for next year to £15,000, so hopefully we can go bigger and better for 2017 and raise even more money for such a worthwhile cause."
