A SOLICITOR is spearheading the launch of a specialist employment service for people who experience problems at work.

Employment solicitor Helen Moore, who completed her legal training in Stourbridge, has been recruited by Birmingham law firm Lovsey Marsh to head up the new employment service.

The 35-year-old is one of two new major appointments to be welcomed at the Corporation Street practice.

Ms Moore is joined by business development manager Clare Berrisford, who brings nine years' experience in marketing professional services. Previously, she worked for Dudley-based Black Country Consortium.

Ms Moore is already handling a number of personal referrals and representing a group of teaching assistants at a specialist school in Birmingham.

Ms Moore, who has worked as a specialist employment lawyer for nine years, said: "The new Equality Act 2010 introduced last month simplifies discrimination and equality law and makes it easier for employees to bring claims.

"Our primary aim is to provide a personal service, with funding arrangements which allow everyone to progress a claim with limited financial risk to themselves.

"We understand that anyone experiencing problems at work can be under a huge amount of stress.”

Headed by Annette McKie, who has 30 years experience in family law, the practice will now concentrate on both family and employment law services.
