Eighteen pharmacies in the borough have signed up to a new initiative aimed at helping local people lead a healthier lifestyle.

All pharmacies provide valuable health services but Healthy Living Pharmacies provide a much broader range of support services, expert advice and help in local communities where it is accessible to everyone.

The Healthy Living Pharmacy project aims to promote good health by offering a range of free services that will provide help and advice on everyday health issues such as stopping smoking, alcohol advice and reviewing medicines. They will also deliver expert support on other health needs such as dealing with minor ailments and signposting to other local services.

Healthy Living Pharmacies will be recognised by a quality mark that will be easily understood by members of the public. They will also have at least one Healthy Living Champion, trained by the Royal Society of Public Health. 18 pharmacies in the borough have signed up to a new initiative aimed at helping local people lead a healthier lifestyle.
