A MALE driver had a lucky escape after his car overturned after smashing into a wall in Netherton last night.

The incident occurred on Cradley Road at around 5.40pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had overturned and crashed into a wall and also hit a car parked on a driveway. The car had come to rest back on its wheels.

“Despite the car suffering substantial damage, the driver had managed to get himself out of the wreckage and received treatment by ambulance crews at the scene.

“The 22 year-old man was treated at the scene for a head injury and also multiple minor injuries. He was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar and transferred by ambulance to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.

“Considering the damage to the vehicle the man was extremely fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
