Movember challenge for White House manager
THE manager of a Dudley’s Cancer Support has vowed to leave alone the razor for the whole of November and grow a moustache to raise awareness for men’s health.
Chris Barron, who heads up the White House in Ednam Road is taking part in the national campaign called Movember, by growing the facial hair over the next four weeks to raise vital funds and get people talking about the two main male cancers – prostate and testicular.
Chris said: “I have never had any facial hair apart from sideburns, as I prefer to be clean-shaven, so although this isn’t a physical challenge, it is going to be very odd for me during November, so please help me get through the month with a strong possibility of me looking a bit dodgy and having food stuck in my moustache.”
As well as raising money for the Movember charities, Chris is also hoping to boost the coffers of the ongoing work of the White House, which provides support, help and information to cancer patients and their carers throughout the borough.
