DUDLEY archives will be temporarily closed to the public on Friday due to water main works in Coseley.
The facility will be shut for the one day in order for South Staffs water to carry out improvements in the area. The works means there will be no water supply to the archives building.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “We apologise for this one day closure to the archives service.
“We have taken this decision on health and safety grounds as there would be no welfare services such as toilets or any other water to provide for visitors or staff.”
Normal service will resume on Tuesday (November 13) at 9am, after the scheduled closure days on Saturday and Monday.
