A SENIOR Government minister will be officially opening Dudley College’s new £18m Evolve campus next week.

The unnamed cabinet member will be unveiling a large canvas to commemorate his visit to the Tower Street vocational training centre on Wednesday November 21.

During the visit the MP will also be touring the stone and copper three-storey centre which boasts art and design workshops, an aircraft fuselage, recording and rehearsal studios, a hair and beauty salon, a full sized sports hall, fitness suite, a 180 seater theatre and a number of classrooms, for students studying art and design, sport, public services, performing arts, and travel and tourism.

Dudley College Principal, Lowell Williams, said: “It is incredibly important for us to celebrate the official opening of the Dudley Learning Quarter which marks a new era in Dudley College’s 150 year history.

The event will provide the Minister and guests with the opportunity to view the new developments and meet the students whose vocational and academic skills development are benefitting from these fantastic new state-of-the-art facilities.”

Dudley College’s new AS and A-Level centre, Dudley Sixth, which is located opposite Evolve on Priory Road is set to be officially opened next month.
