WEST Midlands Police has released footage of a rude yob getting 'lamped' in Dudley High Street.
The man was spotted by officers walking past WH Smiths on one of the borough’s CCTV cameras, directing abusive hand gestures down the lens.
But seconds later the lout received a slap-in the face for his behaviour, as he walked straight into a lamp-post.
Sedgley Sergeant Rob Simpson, said: "I guess you could call it swift divine intervention!
“Camera operators are here with the sole aim of keeping our communities safe and monitoring suspicious behaviour they don't deserve abuse.”
There are 177 overt cameras around the borough, monitored by officers at Sedgley police station at all times of the day, all year round.
