Woman and child in hospital after blaze in Rowley Regis

A woman and child have been taken to hospital following a fire at a house in Rowley Regis.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a property in Haden Walk, Rowley Regis just before 1am this morning (Sunday).

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer in a rapid response vehicle and a member of the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to reports of a property fire in Rowley Regis during the early hours of Sunday morning.

“A woman (age unknown) was treated for serious burns to her head and neck. She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“A small child was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
