KIND-HEARTED bus drivers in Dudley have ensured Santa got to Russells Hall Hospital on time to deliver presents to the children’s ward.
The bus drivers at Pensnett bus garage collected scores of toys for the youngsters from National Express employees.
There was no need for Rudolph as the merry bus drivers drove a coach full of presents to the hospital days before Christmas.
Pensnett bus driver Dave Gerrard said: “We collected scores of presents for the children who will be spending Christmas in the hospital.
“The driving, office and engineering teams at Pensnett were all very generous with presents and were delighted when assistant operations agreed to be Santa for the day.”
Dave added: “Just putting a smile on our poorly children’s faces made our efforts worthwhile.”
- MEANWHILE staff from Kiddicare nursery at Merry Hill have donated 30 presents to the hospital’s neo-natal ward.
The presents for newborns up to children aged eight, have been collected over the past few weeks by staff and parents.
