THE new Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group has appointed a new head of nursing.

Rebecca Bartholomew, deputy director of nursing at George Elliot Hospital in Nuneaton, will be responsible for quality and patient safety within the new group which has just received official authorisation.

Miss Bartholemew, aged 48, who has held three senior nursing posts and worked in a range of hospital specialities and roles from patient admission to modern matron, said she was “delighted” to be taking on the new post.

She added: “I’ve been following the successful development of the CCG so far and am looking forward to working with them and being a part of their future for our local population.”

Dr David Hegarty, chairman of Dudley CCG, said: “We feel Rebecca’s nursing expertise and passion for care will be of huge benefit to us as an organisation and our patients in Dudley.”
