Highly acclaimed War Horse sequel to be performed in Netherton
5:00pm Saturday 26th January 2013 in Local
THE sequel to the successful production of War Horse is set to be performed at Netherton Arts Centre next month.
Farm Boy, by Michael Morpurgo, has won critical acclaim around the world, as the story continues the tale of a horse’s experience in the chaos of World War One.
The follow-up is a moving account of the changing face of the English countryside, set on a family farm, where a grandfather welcomes his grandson to stay for the summer and begins revealing tales of his life as a boy on the farm.
Two shows will be held on Tuesday February 26 at the Northfield Road centre, with a school-only performance at 1.30pm, followed by a public performance at 4.30pm.
Councillor Tim Crumpton, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Following the success of War Horse, which captivated people’s imagination, this highly anticipated follow up is bound to be another hit. “I am sure that children and adults alike will enjoy this production of Farm Boy and give them plenty to think about and discuss together.” The show is performed by The New Perspectives Theatre Company in a co-production with Scamp Theatre.
Tickets cost £11 for adults and £7 for children and are available from Claire Starmer-Jones on 01384 813943 or emailing claire.starmer@dudley.gov.uk
