A LUCKY ginger-and-white cat has been reunited with her owner six-months after disappearing from home.

Two year-old Candy went missing from her Brierley Hill home back in August last year and after failing to track her down, owner Faye Chapeyama, feared the worst.

However last week, Faye received a call to say Candy was alive and well and waiting to be collected at a Dudley vets.

The feline had been found wandering in Netherton and was presumed to be a stray.

She was passed onto Cats Protection, who took her to Vets4Pets in Dudley to get checked over.

Luckily Candy was microchipped and vet, Jo Day, was able to contact Faye and tell her the good news.

Faye, said: “I was so worried when Candy went missing and I burst into tears when I heard she had been found as I thought she may have been in an accident. I’m so happy to have her back.”

Practice vet, Jo, added: “I’m delighted to have helped reunite Faye and Candy. Without her microchip though we wouldn't have been able to reunite them. We always encourage all pet owners to microchip their pets and keep their contact details with microchip companies up to date so they can be contacted. Sadly it is common to have stray pets brought into the vets and it’s very sad if we can't find their owners."
